Herzog & de Meuron, Wildhaus-Alt St. Johann, Switzerland, 2015

Scale: 1:50
Materials: plywood
Type: structural
Detail: 4/7
Student: Leo Baumeler, FS25

A 1:50 study model of Herzog & de Meuron's Gipfelgebäude Chäserrugg, depicting the mountain summit building's asymmetric gabled roof volumes and timber-clad facades. The model is laser-cut from poplar plywood with engraved vertical lines representing board cladding, mounted on a white base that suggests a simplified topographic platform. It foregrounds the building's characteristic pitched roof composition, facade rhythm of narrow openings, and the long cantilevered terrace canopy in relation to the mountain setting.
